Damber Bista
Damber Bista is a PhD candidate at The University of Queensland’s School of Agriculture and Food Science.
His research interests include wildlife ecology, meta-population dynamics, human-wildlife interface and conservation policy. Damber is particularly keen to understand how humans could co-exist with habitat specialist animals and is studying the movement ecology of red pandas in the Himalayas.
His research aims to evaluate the effects of disturbances and fragmentation on space use, movement and resource selection patterns of this specialist mammal. He has a decade-long experience in red panda conservation while working with the Red Panda Network before commencing his PhD. He has had 15+ peer-reviewed journal articles published on red pandas.
