Dr. Ekta Sharma
Dr. Sharma is an artificial intelligence Researcher working on a prestigious national grant awarded by the Australian Government (and the only Queenslander out of five nationally to be chosen for the year 2022). She is also working as the University of Southern Queensland’s Vice Chancellors’ Postdoctoral Fellow for Women in the STEMM discipline in the School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing.
Her Ph.D. research with an excellence award designed novel methods in early warning systems to predict critical atmospheric pollutants. The work was covered generously by several media outlets including a mention from the Deputy High Commissioner, the Australian High Commission to India. Dr. Sharma has co-authored seven books and has over a decade of strong technical experience across the broad spectrum of advanced artificial intelligence, statistics, and data science in Australia and Switzerland.
She has also served as an academic consultant in India. Her cross-disciplinary research projects are from Australian Defence, Algae Pharm (UQ), the bureau of meteorology, marketing, Swiss telecom, and others. Dr. Sharma’s other background in Operations Research and double Master’s (Mathematical Sciences) assist her to accomplish key processes in a feasible, sustainable, and optimum manner. This has awarded her many competitive grants and funding including the Choose Maths grant from the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, TROPAG, Australian Defence and other fundings reserved for top Australian females working on big data.
