Dr. Luke Balcombe
Luke is a digital mental health (DMH) expert at Griffith University combining applied psychology with informatics.
He is a leader in DMH current state and future trends projects, synthesising the challenges and opportunities for technology-enabled solutions to assist in mental health care.
His study on the impact of YouTube on loneliness and mental health showed an example of how social media platforms and AI may exacerbate and/or assist with mental health issues.
Luke has a depth of experience in systematic reviews and in expert responses to breaking news and current events such as monitoring and analysing the impacts of AI technology and social media on mental health.
