Dr. Sam Van Holsbeeck
Sam is a University of the Sunshine Coast PhD graduate in Forestry Studies.
Sam also holds a Master’s degree in Bio-Science Engineering at Ghent University. His main areas of
expertise are forest biomass utilisation and forest pest management.
During his PhD, Sam determined the potential contribution of forest biomass for the bioenergy market in Queensland and has subsequently explored different forest waste product streams as potential revenue for forest and plantation growers.
Sam currently works as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UniSC Forest Research Institute across research projects in forest biomass management, bushfire citizen science, and forest pest and disease management.
