
Dr Xiaoqi Feng
Xiaoqi Feng is Associate Professor of Urban Health and Environment in the UNSW Sydney School of Population Health and an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health. She leads a program of research focused on enhancing population wellbeing through modifiable environmental factors, such as green space, that shape health across the lifecourse.
Xiaoqi’s research has been translated into policy and informs council urban greening strategies. As a result of her work, City of Sydney implemented a $377 million plan to plant 7000 new trees and reach 40 per cent green cover by 2050.
She empowers young and diverse communities of scientists as the founding co-director of PowerLab. Internationally, she is an elected council member and education committee chair for the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology Asia-Western Pacific Chapter.
