Prof. Matthew Burke
Matthew Burke is Deputy Director of the Cities Research Institute at Griffith University. Before joining Griffith, Matthew worked as a land use or transport planner across all three levels of government in Australia.
Today, he is Griffith’s Chair Professor for two transport research collaborations: the Transport Innovation and Research Hub with Brisbane City Council; and, the Transport Academic Partnership with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, and the Motor Accident and Insurance Commission.
Matthew is a winner of five national research council grants and works with his Post-Docs and PhD students, government and industry to try and improve transport systems and ensure people have access to the jobs, goods and services they need in daily life.
