Randy Mulyanto is a Freelance Journalist currently covering Indonesia and Timor-Leste for media titles in Asia and beyond. His news and feature stories have appeared in Al Jazeera English, Nikkei Asia, Rest of World, the South China Morning Post, The Telegraph (UK) and more.
Randy was a fact check journalist at Agence France-Presse’s Jakarta bureau, debunking online misinformation in Southeast Asia’s largest democracy. Before that, he was an Indonesia and Timor-Leste correspondent covering the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesian society, Indonesian politics and diplomacy and other issues for foreign outlets.
Prior to the global health crisis, Randy was a Taiwan correspondent reporting on cross-Strait relations, Hong Kong protests, Taiwanese identity, the Indonesian diaspora and other subjects. During this time, he went to Kinmen, Quanzhou and Dili on several assignments.
