Researchers have calculated that Australia’s unused commercial and industrial rooftops could generate 25% of the nation’s annual electricity, five times more than gas-fired power plants.

The country leads the world in per-capita rooftop solar – most on residential homes – with four times more domestic solar than commercial. By contrast, Europe has 1.5 times more business solar and the EU aims to double capacity in four years.
