Geothermal energy is currently underutilised globally due to high upfront costs, limited public awareness and technical challenges in accessing deep geothermal reservoirs.

UNSW Sydney’s Professor CHRISTOPH ARNS says advancements are making this renewable energy source more viable however and we should be educating students and training skilled workers now to ensure a prepared workforce to support its growth, create sustainable jobs and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
