Engineers at UNSW Sydney have developed FSA FIRECOAT, a fire-retardant paint that became the first to pass Australia’s stringent Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) 40 standard test.
This standard evaluates materials for their ability to withstand radiant heat up to 40kW/m² and ember attacks, offering enhanced protection in bushfire-prone areas as Professor GUAN HENG YEOH explains.
