Assoc. Prof. Chris O. Ifediora
Chris is a practising family physician based on the Gold Coast, Australia. He is a a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Physicians (RACGP), a two-time elected member of the RACGP Queensland Faculty Council, and an Associate Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE).
Ifediora has academic and professional experiences from four different continents, including an MBBS degree from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Awka, Nigeria, Africa), an MPH degree from the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom, Europe), and a South-east Asia Leadership qualification from the Harvard Medical School (USA, North America). He is also undertaking a PhD study the University of Southern Queensland (Australasia), alongside being an Associate Professor with the Griffith University School of Medicine and Dentistry.
As the need arises, he teaches, supervises, mentors, educates and examines medical students, general practice registrars, and other junior doctors.
Dr Ifediora also has passion for charitable activities, and is the Founder/President of the OCI Foundation Limited, an Australian-Nigerian charity organisation that advances health, education and social welfare. One of his passions is on cervical cancer screening and awareness creation, as he uses the OCI Foundation to champion innovative measures that might prove vital in the anti-cancer fight in developing countries.
He has published more than 25 papers in reputable journals, with some making significant contributions to policy and practice within and outside Australia.
Dr Ifediora holds over 20 national and international humanitarian and leadership awards. In 2016, he formulated the now-popular slogan, “We Rise, By Lifting Others.”, which is the official Motto of the OCI Foundation.
