Dr. Andrea La Nauze
Andrea is a Lecturer in the School of Economics, a Fellow in the Australian Institute of Business and Economics at the University of Queensland and a Westpac Research Fellow.
She is an economist who uses data and insights from behavioural economics to help solve environmental problems. She uses economic models, field experiments and observational data to understand the impacts of household behaviour on environmental policy outcomes, and the effects of environmental conditions like heat and air quality on human behaviour.
Much of her research focuses on the retail electricity market in Australia and in particular the impacts of rooftop solar and electric vehicles. She is particularly interested in behavioural responses to information and financial incentives and the unintended effects of environmental policy. Her research is published in top economics journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.
Dr. La Nauze completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2017. Prior to joining UQ, Andrea worked for the Victorian State Government in Melbourne, the United Nations in New York and at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States.
