Prof. Hrvoje Tkalčić
Professor Hrvoje Tkalčić is Head of Geophysics at the Australian National University’s Research School of Earth Sciences. Professor Tkalčić uses seismology and mathematical geophysics tools to understand the internal workings of our planet.
His research interests include global observational seismology with a special interest in deep Earth structure and dynamics; the inner and outer core, the lowermost mantle, the interaction between the core and mantle; characterization of inhomogeneities and anisotropy in Earth. He is also interested in the deployment of geophysical instruments in remote areas of Earth including oceans, installation of geophysical instruments on other planets, and planetary seismology.
