Dr Shannon Brincat
Shannon Brincat is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He specialises in Critical International Relations Theory and his work focuses on processes of global transformation taking place over and above the state.
In particular, Shannon has examined how people have sought to expand the circle of inclusion in cosmopolitan political community through processes of mutual recognition and dialogue across borders in world politics.
Other research areas include global responses to climate change and ecological crises, the problems of assassination and tyrannicide, and political imagination. His current major project focuses on dialectics – a unique form of thinking about transformation, interconnection and dialogue – and how different cultures and societies have utilised such knowledge across history.
